FAQs

What makes a private yacht holiday special?

First, you get a safe, intimate experience with just your family or close friends—no crowds or unknown guests, unlike hotels or resorts. You can spend your entire vacation on board, and your captain can guide you to secluded coves where you might not see another soul. Plus, you’ll be with the same, regularly tested crew throughout. A private yacht holiday is not only a luxurious escape but also one of the safest vacation options right now.

Charter rates are typically quoted on a weekly basis. If your charter extends beyond seven days, the rate is calculated on a pro-rata basis: the weekly rate is divided by seven and then multiplied by the total number of charter days. Please note that some yachts may only be available for weekly charters, particularly during peak season, which runs from Saturday to Saturday.

Rates vary between high and low seasons, depending on the charter location and the type of yacht. High season rates apply during the most sought-after periods, such as July, August, and around Christmas/New Year, as well as for major events. Conversely, low season rates apply during all other times of the year.

While the charter rates listed on our website are current, please be aware that they may be subject to change.

Most charter rates are structured according to MYBA (The Worldwide Yachting Association) Terms, which ensure that the yacht is fully commissioned and equipped, properly insured against marine risks, and staffed by a crew whose wages, meals, and uniforms are covered by the owner.

All other operating expenses are the responsibility of the charterer and may include, but are not limited to:

– Fuel and lubricants for the yacht and its tenders
– Local taxes – Pilotage fees
– Port, harbor, and marina dues
– Customs clearance
– Water and power usage
– Personal laundry
– All provisions, including food, wines, beers, spirits, soft drinks, and other consumables for the charter party
– Shoreside excursions
– Telecommunication and internet costs

Please note that some yachts may have variations in the terms outlined above. For specific details regarding individual yachts, we recommend consulting with us.

Food and beverages are not included in the gulet or yacht charter rental price. In some cases, an inclusive menu can be provided at an additional cost. Please note that yacht charters for less than 5 days may not be possible during the high season (mid-June to mid-September) due to scheduling constraints.

Daily charters are typically available for motor yachts or boats, depending on availability. Please ask us.

All itineraries are set from Saturday to Saturday. If you wish to start or end your holiday on a different day, please inform us. However, during the peak season (June, July, August, September), this may not always be feasible and depends on the yacht’s availability / booking schedule.

APA is a standard system used on luxury yacht charters. It usually amounts to 25–40% of the base charter fee and covers expenses such as fuel, food, port fees, and local taxes.

How APA works:

  • Paid in advance
  • Managed by the captain
  • All expenses are tracked transparently
  • Regular updates during your trip
  • Unused funds are refunded
  • Additional funds are requested only if needed

Once the (The Worldwide Yachting Association ) MYBA or “Levo Yachting” charter agreement is signed, a deposit of 50% of the total charter cost is required to confirm the booking. This payment can be made via bank transfer or with a Visa or MasterCard credit card. The remaining 50% of the charter fee, along with any (APA) Advance Provisioning Allowance (if applicable), taxes, positioning fees, and other agreed-upon charges, must be paid via bank transfer six to eight weeks before departure, as specified in the agreement.

Once you’ve made the final payment for your charter, you will also pay the Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA). Under (The Worldwide Yachting Association ) MYBA terms, the APA typically ranges from 30% to 40% of the total charter cost. This amount covers operating expenses such as fuel, food, drinks, port fees, and other incidental costs during the charter (as outlined in the Charter Terms).

The APA is handed to the captain before your charter begins to ensure the yacht is fully stocked and fueled. Some yachts and gulets also offer food and drink packages, which are usually paid in cash during embarkation, while port taxes are paid as per the costs presented by the captain.

During your trip, you can request an up-to-date account summary at any time, but a full set of accounts will be provided by the captain at the end of the charter. If expenses exceed the amount paid in the APA, additional funds (in cash) will be required immediately. Any outstanding balance must be settled in cash or by bank transfer before disembarkation. If there is any remaining credit at the end of your charter, you will be fully reimbursed.

Should you require car transfers to and from the yacht, the arrangements can be made by the charter company or the captain, and the payment for these transfers will be deducted from your APA.

For charters in European waters, Value Added Tax (VAT) and delivery costs may be applicable to the gross charter fee, in accordance with European Union tax regulations. In addition, local taxes may apply in other countries. Our brokers will provide you with information on any relevant rates based on your selected charter destination.

To create a unique and customized charter experience, we will send you a detailed questionnaire eight weeks before your departure. This will allow you to share your group’s preferences and any special requirements, including dietary or medical needs, exercise routines, entertainment choices, or plans for celebrating special occasions. Your input helps us tailor every detail of your trip to meet your expectations perfectly.

Let us know where you’d like to cruise, your travel dates, group size, and budget. If you’re unsure about the destination, just ask for suggestions.
It’s also helpful to know if you prefer sailing under sail or mainly by engine, as not all gulets are designed for sailing.

The Yachting Agencies Associations have mandated strict disinfection and hygiene procedures for every yacht arrival and departure. All yacht crews are regularly health-checked. Additionally, we adhere to rigorous hygiene protocols on each tour, with compliance verified by local authorities. These procedures are monitored by local authorities and mandatory.

To ensure a well-organized and safe environment for all our guests, we ask you to follow these important rules while on board:

– No shoes on deck.

– Use water and electricity responsibly.

– Cabin towels are for cabin use only.

– No smoking inside cabins.

– Dispose waste properly. Do not throw waste into the sea.

– No swimming while the engine is running.
– No swimming under the influence of alcohol.

– Toilet paper should be placed in the bin, not flushed.

– Life jackets are for emergencies only.

– Keep noise to a minimum to maintain a peaceful atmosphere.

– Be cautious if the deck is wet to avoid slipping.

– Most importantly, focus on enjoying your well-deserved holiday!

Air conditioning usage depends on the gulet and its generator capacity. Most ports do not allow air conditioning after midnight due to noise restrictions. In quiet bays, overnight A/C may be possible. Please check with your agent or discuss it directly with the captain.

Most luxury yachts are equipped with Wi-Fi. However, the connection may be limited while sailing or in remote bays, as it relies on local mobile networks. However, please keep in mind that service might be limited in some areas, especially while at sea. The available mobile providers will depend on the country you’re in.

All yachts operate on 220 volts. If your devices require a different voltage, feel free to bring an adapter, or we can arrange one for you.
